About this event

Throughout the morning we will be investigating the emerging platforms for distribution of TV content and how they are affecting the nature of TV viewing and advertising. We will also be unveiling Thinkbox’s exclusive new research from Decipher - presented by Nigel Walley - where families will be tellyported into the near future of TV with the latest TV technologies. We’ll hear from top TV experts such as Richard Lindsay-Davies, Director General of the Digital Television Group and Brian Lenz, BSkyB’s Director of Product Design & Innovation, who will debate what this all means for the future of TV advertising.

Your login to watch a stream is not the same as your Thinkbox Website login. A nuisance, we know, but unfortunately it’s another one of those technical things. If you’ve accessed one our streams before, and remember your streaming login details, you can of course use these. In travelling to TV’s near future, we thought we’d also take a look back in time during the coffee break, when you can watch our latest effectiveness film which we have put together with the IPA: how 'Every little helps'; was a big help to Tesco. It tells of the radical transformation of Tesco’s fortunes from lack-lustre number two to Britain’s largest retailer, and of advertising’s essential role in making these changes meaningful to consumers and other stakeholders alike. The original case study at the heart of this film has been voted by past conveners as one of the very best case studies from 30 years of the IPA Effectiveness Awards and is well worth a look.

This half-day event exploring the liberating impact of new TV technologies will be held at the Soho Hotel on Tuesday 16 November, London, from 9.30am to 1pm. The subject has proved a popular one, and the event itself is now fully subscribed. However, there’s always our handy LIVE web-stream enabling you to join us online at some point during the morning and watch a session or two.
